Lights, Camera, Action: The Crucible Cast List

Reverend Samuel Parris: George Clooney

I chose George Clooney for the part of Reverend Samuel Parris because Parris is a powerful man in the city.  I feel like George Clooney could portray the role of a powerful man very well.  Also, Reverend Samuel Parris is kind of older and so is George Clooney.

Tituba: Whoppie Goldberg

I chose Whoppie Goldberg for the role of Tituba because she is really different.  Tituba is a mystical person and I thought Whoppie could portray this well.  Whoppie is very animated in her acting.  She can be serious or crazy just like Tituba.

Abigail Williams: Dakota Fanning
I think Dakota would make a perfect Abby.  Dakota has demonstrated through her acting that she can be lady like (like in Uptown Girls) or creepy (like in New Moon).  In The Crucible Abby is kind of creepy and demanding to/with the girls but tries to come of lady like to the town and her uncle.

Thomas Putnam: Patrick Dempsey

I picked Patrick Dempsey for the part of Thomas Putnam.  Putnam is a wealthy man but in the play he shows concern.  Patrick Dempsey in Grey's Anatomy demonstrates his passion and seriousness/concern.

Goody Ann Putnam: Jodie Foster

In the movie Flight Plan Jodie plays a mother that who's daughter has gone missing during a flight.  In it she shows her concern and determination to find her daughter.  This is why I have chosen her for the part of Goody Putnam.  Goody is worried for her daughter and will do anything for her only child to live.

John Proctor: Orlando Bloom

I picked Orlando Bloom because John Proctor is slightly lower class.  He's a farmer and is well known.  Orlando plays a some what similar character in Pirates of the Caribbean. He played that part well and I feel he could do the same as John Proctor.

Goody Elizabeth Proctor: Jennifer Aniston

Elizabeth Proctor is steadfast and true character.  She is struggling to forgive her husband but wants to do so. At the same time she is also kind of cold because of the affair her husband had.  In the work I have seen Jennifer Aniston do, I have found her to portray both of these characteristics well. For example in Just Go With It.  This is why I chose Jennifer Aniston.

Mary Warren: Kristen Stewart

Mary is one of the girls who accuses people of being witches.  She goes along with is but also feels bad for what shes doing.  I feel like she's some what timid.  In Twilight Kristen Stewart plays a timid girl.  She would do a good job portraying Mary Warren.

Goody Rebecca Nurse: Betty White

In The Proposal Betty White plays a sweet old grandma who loves everyone.  She does a really good job.  This is why I picked her for the part of Goody Nurse.  Rebecca is well known for her charity.

Reverend John Hale: Michael Sheen

I chose Michael Sheen for the part of Reverend John Hale.  Hale is a creepy, serious, character.  In New Moon Michael Sheen plays a character with these traits. I feel like he would do so well playing Hale because of this.

I just hate it that … some people are cliquey.

I just love it that ... I have the best family ever.

Favorites...

Picking favorites has always been really hard for me! I feel like there are so many good things to choose from.  These are few of my favorite things that will always remain the same.

  • My favorite thing to do is DANCE.  I have been dancing since I was two years old, and I love it.
  • My favorite food is BABY BACK RIBS.  My dad is a mean barbecuing machine.  The best tasting ribs come right off his grill.
  • My favorite type of music is COUNTRY.  I grew up listening to it and I still love it today.
  • My favorite things to drink are SMOOTHIES.  Roxberry has the best!
  • My favorite thing to do with my family is CAMPING.  I think camping is so much fun.  My family and I are big time campers and we love it.  Every year we have a huge camp out with our extended family.  Honestly it's the time of year I laugh the hardest, and I'm always looking forward to our next one.

What are your favorites?
